How can I become a board commissioner?

  • contact any current board commissioner
  • take a resume to the county commissioners office
  • have a background check
  • be sworn in for a 2 year term
  • take 2 required web classes
  • must live in the West Lake Limestone ESD#2
  • attend monthly meetings
  • participate in special events
  • assume the administrative tasks and duties of one of the five board member positions

What is an Emergency Services District?

An emergency services district (ESD) is a political subdivision established pursuant to Chapter 775 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. An ESD generally supports or provides local emergency services, which can include emergency medical services and fire protection services.
