Letter to the Voting Community

To our Stakeholders,

As an Emergency Services Organization (ESO) the Limestone County ESD#2 and the West Lake Limestone Volunteer Fire Department are charged with the safety and health of our community. The thought of moving forward with the planned Sales and Use Tax Election on May 2nd is counterintuitive. Conducting this election at this time poses a substantial health threat to those that live in the district. Subsequently, the Sales and Use Tax Election is postponed until either the November 2020 election or the May 2021 election. This postponement applies to both early voting and the 2 May election. When the opportunity arises, we will again order an election. As was the case in this planned election, we will take every opportunity to disseminate the election information. All available mediums will be used to inform the West Lake Community as to the specifics of the rescheduled election.

Our web site https://www.wllvfdesd2.org can be used to provide up to the minute information about any future election.

The importance of the tax initiative or its justifications have not been mitigated nor has the Coronavirus impacted our ability to perform the mission. We have been and will continue to be fully committed to render our services in this time of need.

We thank you for all your support and ask that you continue to help us provide and sustain a superior level of service, now and in the future.

Above all, it is our fervent desire that you remain safe and out of harm’s way.

-- Vernon Davis

    President ESD#2

West Lake Limestone Emergency Services Organization

We call ourselves the "fire department", but we are not "Chicago Fire". Our Emergency Services Organization (ESO) is made up of volunteers that live in our area, so our ESO looks just like our community, consisting of retired professionals as well as younger men and women, all with different skills and backgrounds.
